Authorities have identified the woman found dead in the hallway of San Francisco's Fairmont Hotel in the early hours of New Year's Day as Victoria Jones, the 34-year-old daughter of Oscar-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones. The San Francisco Fire Department confirmed her identity to The Hollywood Reporter on Friday, Jan. 2. Emergency responders were called to the hotel just before 3 a.m. on Jan. 1 for a medical emergency. Paramedics assessed the situation and declared Jones deceased at the scene. The cause of death has not yet been announced. Both the San Francisco Police Department and the city's medical examiner are investigating. Here's what we know about the death. According to an email statement to USA TODAY, the San Francisco Fire Department reported that personnel responded promptly to the Fairmont Hotel after receiving the emergency call, following the discovery of the body. Following the declaration of death, law enforcement and medical examiners were notified. Representatives for Tommy Lee Jones have not yet commented publicly. Born in San Antonio, Texas, in September 1991, Victoria was the younger child of Tommy Lee Jones and his second wife, Kimberlea Cloughley. She grew up largely away from the public eye, despite her father's fame. Victoria made her Hollywood debut in "Men in Black II" (2002) as the 'Neuralyzed Daughter,' appearing alongside her father and Will Smith. She later acted in The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2005), directed by her father, and appeared in the psychological drama "Sorry, Haters" and an episode of "One Tree Hill." Her last known screen role was in "The Homesman" (2014), a frontier drama starring Hilary Swank and Meryl Streep. Tommy Lee Jones, born Sept. 15, 1946, in San Saba, Texas, is one of Hollywood's most enduring and respected actors. Starting in the 1970s, he appeared in many supporting roles in TV and film productions. By the 1980s, Jones had earned critical acclaim for his Emmy-winning performance in "The Executioner's Song" (1982) and a nomination for "Lonesome Dove" (1989). Jones became a household name in the 1990s with standout roles in "JFK" (1991), "The Fugitive" (1993)—which earned him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor—and the "Men in Black" franchise. His filmography spans genres, from thrillers like the Academy Award-winning "No Country for Old Men" (2007) to historical dramas such as "Lincoln" (2012), for which he received another Oscar nomination. He has also directed films, including "The Good Old Boys" (1995) and "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada" (2005), which won him Best Actor at Cannes.
