Stones, who recently left Manchester City as a free agent, will play central defence alongside Marc Guehi, who has shaken off a hamstring injury, with the duo putting club allegiances to one side as they try to keep City's Erling Haaland quiet. Ezri Konsa shifts over to right-back as he did in the last-16 win against Mexico following the red card to Jarell Quansah, who begins a two-match ban. Reece James has been recovering from a hamstring injury, but he is not deemed fit enough to start. Madueke returns to the team in place of Arsenal team-mate Bukayo Saka, who is still managing an Achilles injury. Harry Kane leads the line, insisting this match is not an outright shoot-out between him and Haaland. Kane has scored six goals, equalling his tally from the 2018 World Cup, while Haaland's seven has fired Norway to their first quarter-final. As expected, Haaland leads Norway's line with several recognisable names from English clubs including Arsenal's Martin Odegaard, Brentford defender Kristoffer Ajer and Fulham's Sander Berge. Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford will make his record 18th World Cup appearance, putting him in front of England great Peter Shilton. Temperatures are soaring at 33 degrees Celsius, but the Florida humidity makes it feel like 44 degrees Celsius.
