BRION, LGD Gaming and Vitality advance at Demacia Cup

BRION, LGD Gaming and Team Vitality advanced to the Knockout Stage with wins in their Round 3 High Matches on Tuesday at the Demacia Cup Global Invitational in China. They improved their records to 2-1 in the Swiss Stage to join previous qualifiers FEARX, KT Rolster and Team WE, with two more spots still available. The League of Legends event runs through Oct. 17 and features 12 top teams that didn't qualify for the World Championship from the six major global regions. They are competing for a prize pool of 1.5 million Chinese yuan (about $223,800 USD). The Swiss Stage is being held online and runs through Saturday with best-of-three matches. Eight teams advance to the single-elimination Knockout Stage in Beijing, which starts on Monday. Those matches will be best-of-five. On Tuesday, BRION rallied for a 2-1 win. Natus Vincere opened with a 36-minute win on red and BRION responded with two wins on blue in 31 and 24 minutes. The other two matches were sweeps. LGD Gaming defeated JD Gaming in 24 and 27 minutes, both on red. Vitality posted a 30-minute win on red and a 33-minute victory on blue against RED Canids.
