Pete Davidson shares support for ex Ariana Grande amid public scrutiny Pete Davidson is throwing his support behind his ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande as intense public scrutiny caused her to step away from the spotlight. In a new interview with Variety published on Wednesday, September 30, the SNL alum called the recent commentary and speculation about her weight and appearance 'f***ed up.' 'I don't like it at all,' Davidson, 32, said. 'It's not cool. She's a really strong person — I've witnessed it — and I don't understand it. She knows how to handle this stuff though. She's been around. So she'll be OK, but I think it's fucked up,' he added. Since her Eternal Sunshine Tour ended, the Grammy-winner has been spending more and more time away from the spotlight and with her on-again boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez. Davidson and Grande, meanwhile, had a whirlwind romance in 2018 and became engaged weeks after starting to date. However, they split that October. Despite their complicated history, the comedian described Grande as an 'awesome girl' who is 'f****ing cool' and 'immensely talented.' He also clarified their current relationship status: 'We're not texting or whatever, but we're cool.' In his Variety interview, Davidson also spoke fondly of another one of his exes: Kim Kardashian. 'We're cool, and I have a lot of love for her,' he said. READ MORE: Pete Davidson addresses Kanye West's threats over Kim Kardashian romance
