Pakistan T20I captain Sahibzada Farhan has indicated that the door remains open for Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan to return to Pakistan's T20I setup in the future.
Farhan praised the experienced batters, describing them as among the world's best players and suggesting that their return could happen whenever they are considered for selection.
Neither Babar nor Rizwan is currently part of Pakistan's T20I squad for the Sri Lanka series.
Babar Azam continues to be part of Pakistan's ODI setup, while Mohammad Rizwan is also currently outside the T20I squad. Their absence from the shortest format has generated considerable discussion among Pakistan cricket fans.
Farhan's comments suggest that the national team's T20I plans have not necessarily closed the door on the two senior players.
If selected in the future, both could potentially bring their experience and international record back to Pakistan's T20I campaign.
For now, the focus remains on the current squad and its upcoming commitments, while the possibility of seeing Babar and Rizwan return to the T20I side remains open.
