Pakistan advises citizens to carry proper visas for Uzbekistan-Tajikistan road travel

Pakistan has advised its citizens travelling by road between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to preferably obtain double-entry or multiple-entry visas to avoid difficulties at border crossings. Pakistan's Ambassador Mudassir Tipu said travellers should ensure they possess the required visas before crossing the Uzbekistan-Tajikistan border. He said some Pakistani citizens had faced difficulties at border crossings because they did not have the necessary visas. In some cases, resolving the issue with the relevant authorities took between 10 and 14 days because of lengthy and complex procedures, the ambassador said. Tipu said the absence of proper visas had caused unnecessary difficulties and distress for some Pakistani travellers. He advised all citizens planning to travel between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to thoroughly check and verify their visas and other travel documents before beginning their journey. The ambassador said advance verification of travel documents would help travellers avoid unnecessary complications at border crossings. He added that taking the necessary precautions beforehand would make travel arrangements easier and help Pakistani citizens avoid delays and inconvenience.
