Guillermo Rodriguez's salsa brand tops 1 million tubs as it expands to Kroger, H-E-B and more retailers nationwide Guillermo Rodriguez's salsa brand is expanding nationwide after selling more than 1 million tubs since its launch earlier this year, according to PEOPLE. The comedian and television personality, 55, co-founded Guillermo's Salsa with Chris Kirby, founder of Ithaca Hummus, in January 2026. The refrigerated salsa brand initially launched in stores across the Northeast and Southeast before expanding to additional retailers. Guillermo's Salsa will become available at Kroger locations nationwide beginning October 4. The brand is also set to launch at H-E-B stores on November 4, followed by Stop & Shop later this year and additional retailers in early 2027. The salsa is available in three varieties: mild, medium and hot. Rodriguez has said the hot version is his favourite, although he enjoys all three flavours. The recipes feature ingredients including tomatoes, lime juice, cilantro and jalapeño. According to Rodriguez, the idea for Guillermo's Salsa dates back to a dream he had in 2003. He based the product on his grandmother's recipe and has credited her approach to cooking with inspiring the brand. Rodriguez said his grandmother believed that putting 'heart,' patience and love into food helped make it taste better. He has carried that philosophy into the development of the salsa. The Jimmy Kimmel Live! personality also said he regularly eats the salsa with eggs for breakfast and has experimented with pairing it with pizza. He added that chips remain his preferred accompaniment. Guillermo's Salsa has also received support from Rodriguez's friend Jimmy Kimmel and his Dancing with the Stars costars. As the brand continues its retail expansion, Rodriguez said he hopes to launch his own tequila brand in the future.
