ISLAMABAD, Sep 29 (APP): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday issued notices and sought responses from the respondents on a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) appeal challenging an accountability court's decision to unfreeze shares worth Rs 12 billion of Summit Bank in a fake bank accounts case.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Ayaz Shaukat issued the order on the NAB petition.
According to NAB, the Islamabad Accountability Court had ordered restoration of Summit Bank assets worth Rs12 billion.
NAB contended that the accountability court's decision was a result of ignoring important material available on the record.
The anti-graft watchdog further maintained that relevant evidence and record were not taken into consideration while setting aside the order for freezing the assets.
The high court issued notices to the respondents and sought their replies on the NAB petition. The court adjourned further hearing of the case until October 27.
