The Supreme Court has dismissed petitions seeking cancellation of the bail granted to four suspects in a land-grabbing and murder case in Rawalpindi's Chauntra area, directing the trial court to decide the case within six months.
A bench comprising Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan heard the case. The suspects, Ali Imran, Waseem Ejaz, Roman Imran and Waheed, are accused of murdering a man within the jurisdiction of Chauntra police station.
During the hearing, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan observed that there was no allegation that the suspects had misused their bail. The court noted that a private complaint was also being heard alongside the main case. The complainant's counsel requested that the petitions be disposed of as withdrawn.
