Christa Pike is one of them, who is sentenced to die by lethal injection on Wednesday. She is a convicted murderer and currently a death-row inmate in Tennessee who will become the first woman to be executed in the state in two centuries. However, on Clancy, she said she feels a connection with her based on mental-health problems both of them allegedly faced. In an interview with The Times of London, she said, 'I feel a kinship with Lindsay." She described that both she and Clancy were suffering from "unique female issues. 'We are both females who got into trouble because of uniquely female issues." Then, the convicted said the sympathetic attitude of most jurors toward Clancy showed greater awareness about mental-health illness 'because science about brain development has evolved.' Because at the time, Pike said when she was convicted, understanding women's mental health was not bright, at best. 'One thing is different, however, is that times have changed a lot on awareness of women's issues since I was put on trial." However, still, she said, there is a long road ahead. 'There are so many women who don't get the help they need: me and others." Pike was 18 when she and her boyfriend tortured and then killed the 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer in Tennessee in 1995.
