Anthony Kim to chronicle comeback in documentary

A documentary detailing former golf star Anthony Kim's long journey back, which included his struggles with addiction, surgeries and 'very dark moments,' is currently in production. Kim, 41, who won three times on the PGA Tour and achieved a career-high ranking of World No. 6 in 2008, sustained an Achilles injury in 2012 and stepped away from competitive golf for 12 years. Kim won his first competitive tournament in nearly 16 years at LIV Golf Adelaide in February, pulling off an improbable three-shot victory over Spain's Jon Rahm before thanking all of his supporters during his tough times. 'Nobody else has to believe in me but me, and for anybody that's struggling, you can get through anything,' said Kim, who pledged to donate 1% of his LIV Golf prize money to mental health charities. 'I don't really know how to put it into words. I knew this was going to happen, but for it to actually happen is pretty insane. 'I just want to thank all the people that have supported me, including you, who when I was not playing well and I was struggling on the verge of never coming back to LIV, always supported me.' Propagate Content, which is producing the documentary, issued a press release: 'Anthony Kim was a golf prodigy destined for greatness before injuries, addiction, mental illness, and isolation led him to disappear from the sport, and the world, for more than a decade. 'Now, after an improbable return and a victory few believed possible, Kim tells his story for the first time, on his own terms. A deeply personal journey of recovery, redemption, and the search for what comes next.' A release date for the documentary has not yet been announced.
