DERA ISMAIL KHAN (Dunya News) - Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has returned from PTI long march along with the party workers, citing security concerns and the closure of roads. Speaking in Dera Ismail Khan, Gandapur said the party leadership had directed workers not to sabotage public property or take the law into their own hands, while urging them to continue the movement peacefully. He said the prevailing law and order situation was not suitable for keeping workers in the area, adding that it would be irresponsible to put their safety at risk. 'It's not possible to stay here overnight, and we cannot move forward because the road is closed,' Gandapur said, explaining that the decision was therefore taken to return rather than expose workers to danger. The former chief minister said rallies, processions and long marches were not new to the PTI, adding that the workers would participate in the long march again if given the opportunity. He said vehicles had been arranged up to Swabi and that all necessary preparations were in place. According to Gandapur, if the party leadership issues a call, the workers can reach the long march within two hours. Gandapur further said PTI workers and supporters consider decisions taken by the party leadership as the party's collective decision. Commenting on criticism surrounding the party's decisions, he said there was no need to focus on 'tick-tocks,' stressing that decisions should instead be based on the practical situation on the ground.
