Major Motorways M-1, M-14 & E-35 Set to Reopen From Tomorrow

The M-1, M-14 and E-35 Hazara Motorway are scheduled to reopen for traffic from 6:00 AM on September 27, 2026, according to an announcement by the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP). The reopening is expected to restore movement on several important routes connecting Islamabad with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern parts of Punjab. The routes had been restricted as part of security arrangements ahead of planned political activity in Islamabad. Earlier closures affected major sections of the M-1, M-14 and E-35, creating disruptions for motorists travelling between the federal capital, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The reopening follows the postponement of PTI's planned Islamabad long march from September 27 to October 4. With the restrictions being lifted, commuters are expected to regain access to these key road links from Sunday morning, although motorists are advised to remain attentive to any updated traffic or security instructions issued by authorities. The restoration of these routes is expected to improve connectivity for private vehicles, public transport and commercial traffic travelling between Islamabad, Peshawar, northern Punjab and areas along the Hazara corridor.
