LAHORE: Lahore is set to witness a new era of environmental sustainability and modern architecture as the CBD Lake upgradation project, a flagship initiative by the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA), enters its final phase of completion.
CEO CBD Punjab Imran Amin accompanied by senior authority officials, conducted a site visit to inspect the ongoing construction progress at CBD Lake, CBD Walk, and Second Walk. During the briefing, officials informed Imran Amin that travertine work on the elevations of all CBD Walk units facing the lake has been successfully completed.
Following the completion of the water bound and sub-base preparations, the asphalt layering process is set to commence shortly. Additionally, excavation work for the Second Walk project is near completion.
Covering an area of 20 kanals with a depth of 25 feet, the artificial CBD Lake is designed to store up to 5 million gallons of rainwater, serving as a vital rainwater harvesting mechanism. High-speed work is currently underway on marble installation along the lake's slopes, alongside the functional upgradation of rainwater harvesting wells and the upcoming installation of decorative fountains.
