Prep for the new gen

The News. — Pakistan has a large and talented population of young people, but many of them continue to face difficulties in accessing quality education, employment, professional training and opportunities for entrepreneurship. Our long-term vision should therefore go beyond economic targets and place human development at its heart. Civic agencies should invest in modern education, digital and technical skills, artificial intelligence, research and entrepreneurship. Universities should also be connected more closely with industries so that students graduate with practical skills and better employment opportunities. A long-term national vision can succeed only when its goals are translated into practical and measurable action. Young people should, therefore, also be included in policymaking and national development. Political continuity, transparency, accountability and effective implementation will be essential as well.
