No bus-stops

Before talking about shade or shelter, Karachi has a more basic problem: in most parts of the city, bus stops don't exist. Commuters simply gather at a familiar stretch of road, with no marker, no seating, and certainly no protection from the elements. In peak summer heat, this leaves working men and women and students standing directly under the sun with nowhere to wait, no shade, no bench, nothing, for as long as it takes a bus to arrive. This is a far more fundamental gap than needing to add shelters to existing stops. In most localities, there is no waiting area whatsoever, and commuters are left to manage entirely on their own regardless of the weather. Karachi's transport authorities need to start by building actual bus stops across the city.
