Canal water dispute claims life of man, son in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD (Dunya News) - A man and his son were killed in a shooting following a dispute over canal water in the 186-RB area within the jurisdiction of Jhumra Police Station here on Thursday, police said. According to police, the victims were identified as Asmatullah and his son Fahad. The two were allegedly shot by their opponents during a confrontation over the canal water dispute. The suspects fled the scene after the incident. Punjab Inspector General of Police Rao Abdul Karim took notice of the killings and sought a report from Faisalabad Regional Police Officer Inam-ul-Haq. The IG directed police to arrest the accused immediately and ensure legal action against those responsible. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
