. The Punjab government has approved a Rs580.632 million project to establish a state-of-the-art Maryam Nawaz Satellite Campus for autism in Rawalpindi, offering free treatment and care for children with autism. The contract for the project is scheduled to be awarded through open bidding on November 4. A tender has been issued for the construction of the complete medical centre building and associated development works. Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition that typically emerges in early childhood and can affect communication, social interaction, behaviour and sensory processing. The project includes the construction of the ground floor, first floor and rooftop structure of the main building, along with electrical installations, plumbing, gas connections, a guard room, garages, a canteen and other supporting facilities. Additional infrastructure will include a boundary wall, entrance gates, parking sheds, paved areas, an overhead water reservoir with a capacity of 10,000 gallons, an underground water tank holding 20,000 gallons, a borewell with a submersible pump, a fire alarm system, CCTV cameras, internet cabling and air-conditioning.
