Airline shifts Tashkent-Islamabad services to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; total weekly flights between Pakistan and Uzbekistan to rise to nine
Uzbekistan Airways will increase its Tashkent-Islamabad flight frequency from two to three services per week starting October 26 to improve air connectivity between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, APP reported.
According to the revised schedule, flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, replacing the existing Tuesday and Saturday schedule.
The additional service will increase the total number of scheduled weekly flights between the two countries from eight to nine, including connections between Tashkent and Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.
The airline currently operates four weekly flights on the Tashkent-Lahore route and two on the Tashkent-Islamabad route, alongside services to Karachi.
The expansion is aimed at facilitating tourism, business travel and transit connections, while providing Pakistani travellers with greater access to Uzbekistan and other Central Asian destinations through Tashkent.
Tourism between the two countries has been increasing, with more than 20,000 Pakistani visitors travelling to Uzbekistan in 2025, while nearly 20,000 visited during the first nine months of 2026.
The additional flights are also expected to support travel to Uzbekistan's historic cities, including Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, and strengthen bilateral trade and cultural exchanges.
