Governor says KP cannot afford any protest or long march

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has said that the province, already facing the threat of terrorism, cannot afford political protests or long marches at a time when maintaining peace remains a major challenge. Speaking to the media on Sunday, Kundi said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was currently not in a position to launch a long march or protest, stressing that a red line would have to be drawn to protect peace and stability in the province. The governor highlighted the sacrifices made by Pakistan's security forces in the fight against terrorism, saying their efforts were before everyone. He described the Pakistan Army as a red line and also made claims regarding Afghanistan's alleged role as a facilitator for India and Israel. Kundi further commented on calls from some PTI members for negotiations with Afghanistan. He said negotiations could not be conducted with individuals or groups that, in his view, do not respect Pakistan's Constitution and laws. The governor's remarks come amid continuing security concerns in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where terrorism and political tensions remain significant issues. He emphasised that maintaining peace in the province should remain a priority while political differences are addressed through constitutional and legal means.
