ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a travel advisory for Pakistani pilgrims travelling by air to Iran and Iraq. The ministry has urged pilgrims and Ziyarat Group Organisers (ZGOs) to verify their flight schedules before leaving for the airport.
According to a ministry spokesperson, passengers should confirm their flights in advance. They have also been advised to avoid depending on uncertain flight schedules. Pilgrims should make alternative travel arrangements to prevent difficulties during their journeys.
The advisory particularly highlights flights connecting Tehran, Mashhad and Najaf. Pakistani pilgrims travelling between these destinations have been advised to check their flight status before departure. The ministry has stressed the importance of confirming flight operations to avoid unexpected disruptions.
Flight cancellations could create difficulties for pilgrims travelling to religious destinations. Therefore, the ministry has advised passengers to keep additional funds available. These funds may help cover alternative air or land transport if their scheduled flights are cancelled.
Pilgrims may also need extra money for accommodation expenses. Having sufficient funds could help them manage unexpected delays and arrange temporary accommodation. The advice is especially relevant for passengers whose journeys depend on connecting flights or uncertain schedules.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has also directed registered Ziyarat Group Organisers to follow the travel advisory. Organisers have been instructed not to rely on unconfirmed flights operating from Iran. They must also ensure that all pilgrims receive accurate information about their travel plans.
Ziyarat Group Organisers play an important role in coordinating group travel arrangements. Keeping passengers informed about flight changes can help reduce confusion and prevent avoidable difficulties. The ministry has therefore emphasised the need for proper communication between organisers and pilgrims.
The latest instructions aim to help Pakistani pilgrims prepare for possible travel disruptions. Confirming flight schedules, arranging backup transport and carrying additional funds may help passengers manage unexpected situations.
Pilgrims travelling to Iran and Iraq are advised to remain in contact with their respective Ziyarat Group Organisers. They should also confirm their flight details before departure and review alternative arrangements if necessary.
