Afghan claim of Spin Boldak attack baseless, Information Ministry says

F.P. Report ISLAMABAD : The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has rejected as baseless a claim by Afghanistan's Defence Ministry that a Pakistani check post near Spin Boldak was destroyed. In a fact-check issued on Friday, the ministry said Afghan authorities had made a false and fabricated claim regarding the alleged destruction of the Pakistani post. The ministry said an attempted Afghan attack in the Gulistan sector during the night of September 24-25 was foiled, while retaliatory action inflicted heavy losses on Afghan Taliban positions. According to the statement, at least 13 Afghan Taliban personnel were killed and several others wounded during the operation. The ministry said videos and photographs were available as evidence of the border clash and the subsequent response, contradicting the Afghan Defence Ministry's claim. It accused the Afghan Defence Ministry of attempting to distort facts surrounding the incident and reiterated that its claim about the destruction of a Pakistani post near Spin Boldak was baseless.
