China News Service official briefed over APP's multi-lingual news operations

ISLAMABAD, Sep 29 (APP):Deputy Director of the International Communication Center of China News Service (CNS), Wang Gaofei visited Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) here on Tuesday, where she was briefed about the professional working of the state news agency. Wang Gaofei, having an extensive experience in journalism, is visiting Pakistan from 27th September to 6th October, 2026, in connection with strengthening of bilateral relations between Pakistan and China. Acting Managing Director APP, Sabeen Usman Khattak briefed Wang Gaofei about APP as a credible news source, and said the organization was making headway in contemporary media landscape and emerging as a versatile news entity. She highlighted that APP was delivering comprehensive news coverage to its subscribers in multiple formats including the multi-lingual text news, high-quality videos, photographs, and digital media. The news items released in English and Urdu, four provincial languages and the foreign languages including Chinese and Arabic give APP a broad-based national and international scope, she added. She mentioned APP's extensive editorial network, including its headquarters in Islamabad, regional bureaus and stations, foreign correspondents in Beijing and the United Nations, and a wide pool of part-time correspondents across the country. It was highlighted that APP had inked news exchange agreements with state-run news agencies of over 50 countries, which contributed towards strengthening Pakistan's narrative at international level. Wang Gaofei said the media of China and Pakistan could play the role of a bridge by engaging their audience with the stories about each other's culture, tourism and people. She said through her work, she promoted Pakistan perspective in China and mentioned in this regard interviewing several ambassadors of Pakistan in China, whereas her articles were quoted by many Chinese media outlets. The CNS official toured various news sections of APP including Central News Desk, Reporting section, Chinese Desk, Urdu News Service and Studios and expressed keen interest in the news operations. Established in 1952, the China News Network has 31 branches in provinces and municipalities on the Chinese mainland besides its 21 outbound branches. The official website has daily views of 230 million on average, with more than 60 million application installations.
