(WJW) — Singer and entertainer Barry Manilow shared a new picture with fans nearly two weeks after announcing he'd been diagnosed with lung cancer.
'Better Today!' the picture on his official Instagram page was captioned.
It showed Manilow, 82, smiling and laying in what appeared to be a hospital bed.
On Dec. 22, Manilow announced the cancer diagnosis, saying he had bronchitis for so long that his doctor ordered an MRI.
'The MRI discovered a cancerous spot on my left lung that needs to be removed,' a statement from Manilow read.
Manilow, whose career has spanned over 60 years, said the cancer was found very early and he would be 'going into surgery to have the spot removed.'
He also added he would not have to undergo chemotherapy or radiation.
The diagnosis forced Manilow to reschedule several upcoming shows on his tour.
The tour is set to resume in February. He's scheduled to perform at Nationwide Arena in Columbus in early March.
