LEXINGTON, Ky. (WLOX) - After one season with the Kentucky Wildcats, RB Dante Dowdell is entering the transfer portal, reports say. The former Nebraska and Oregon transfer rushed for 560 yards and 3 touchdowns this season. https://t.co/hHRBJmp0r9 pic.twitter.com/iOp5BISBy0 The former Picayune standout running back transferred to Kentucky after one season at Nebraska in 2024 and one season at Oregon in 2023. During his lone season at Kentucky, Dowdell rushed for 560 yards and three touchdowns on 112 carries. He also tallied seven catches for 30 yards. Dowdell's best game of the season came in the 24-16 season-opening win over Toledo, where he rushed for a season high 129 yards and a touchdown. In his time at Picayune, he rushed for 5,301 yards and 65 touchdowns, helping head coach Cody Stogner and his team win back-to-back MHSAA 5A state championships in 2021 and 2022. During his senior season in 2022, Dowdell was named 5A's Mr. Football, recording nearly 2,000 yards on the ground alone and 28 touchdowns.
