West Fargo Police Department honors top officers, civilian staff of 2026

WEST FARGO, N.D. — The West Fargo Police Department has announced its 2026 Employee, Supervisor, and Civilian Staff Member of the Year awards, recognizing three members for their exceptional leadership, innovation, and service to the community. Employee of the Year Officer Bailey Tulius has been selected by his peers as the department's Employee of the Year and will be recognized at the annual West Fargo Exchange Club Luncheon. Raised in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Tulius earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Law Enforcement from Alexandria Technical College and attended the Law Enforcement Training Academy in Bismarck, North Dakota. Tulius began his career in law enforcement in 2019 and joined the West Fargo Police Department in 2024. Department officials praised him as an informal leader whom colleagues frequently turn to for training, guidance, and advice, citing his dedication to developing those around him. Supervisor of the Year Sergeant Trent Stanton was named Supervisor of the Year following a peer vote honoring his leadership, professionalism, and commitment. Originally from Elmore, Minnesota, Stanton earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Jamestown University and completed Alexandria Technical College's law enforcement skills program. Stanton's law enforcement career began in 2003, and he has served West Fargo since 2006. Known for placing his team's well-being above his own recognition, Stanton was highlighted for his positive influence and respectful approach to leadership. Civilian Employee of the Year Analyst Nick Gomez earned the Civilian Employee of the Year award for his innovation, commitment, and collaborative effort across the department. Hailing from Bishop, California, Gomez holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Boise State University. Since taking on his role, Gomez has built it into one of the department's most valuable positions through his constant readiness to assist colleagues and support agency operations.
