Olmsted County to open applications Tuesday for lottery deer hunt at Chester Woods Park

(ABC 6 News) — The Olmsted County Parks and Trails Department will be opening applications for a lottery deer hunt at Chester Woods Park. Applications open on Tuesday, September 8 for the hunt that will take place between November 21 and November 29. The hunt will be opened to 80 hunters selected from the lottery with each being required to obtain at least one disease management harvest tag, allowing them to take an additional antlerless deer. Officials say the purpose of the hunt is to keep the deer herd healthy and manageable. The lottery drawing will take place at the Public Works Service Center in Rochester on September 28 at 8 a.m. All applicants will be notified of results by mail or email.
