ICG Infra Buys Westerleigh Group from Ontario Teachers' and USS

Infrastructure Private Equity ICG Infra Buys Westerleigh Group from Ontario Teachers' and USS Cassidy Cavanagh | share ICG, through its European Infrastructure team ICG Infra, has agreed to acquire Westerleigh Group from Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan and Universities Superannuation Scheme, which have jointly owned the business since 2016. ICG Infra will partner with Westerleigh's existing management team, led by CEO Debbie Smith, and plans to support investment in its existing network, develop new locations and expand its service offering. Founded more than 30 years ago, Westerleigh is the U.K.'s largest private operator of crematoria and cemeteries, with 42 crematoria serving communities across England, Scotland and Wales. Under Ontario Teachers' and USS ownership, the company expanded significantly, opening 21 crematoria since 2016 and developing additional sites.
