MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. (WBTV) - One person was arrested following a deadly shooting at a Mount Holly apartment complex Monday night, according to police.
At around 9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7, police say a person was shot in the chest at an apartment complex on Noles Drive, near the area of West Charlotte Avenue and Craig Street.
The person, identified by Mount Holly police only as a 'young Black male,' was reportedly pronounced dead at the apartment complex.
Police said that a crowd was 'gathered between several apartment buildings' when officers arrived. It was not immediately clear what led up to the shooting, or who the people were.
At the start of their investigation, police say they detained two people, identified only as 'a male and female.' Officers reportedly searched an apartment at the complex, and then arrested the female.
No other details were shared by investigators, as of this writing. Police did not provide a description or name for the person arrested, nor did they say why she was arrested.
Investigators were still looking for more people 'believed to have been involved' in the shooting. Mount Holly police were asking anyone who witnessed the shooting, or anyone with information to call the police department at 704-827-4343.
WBTV previously reported that there was a large police presence at the apartment complex, called the Holly Hills Apartments, before it was confirmed that a shooting happened there.
