Sri Lanka have brought Kamil Mishara and Sahan Arachchige into their squad for the second Test against India in Colombo. The hosts are without Kusal Mendis, Dinesh Chandimal and Pathum Nissanka because of injury and concussion-related unavailability. COLOMBO: Sri Lanka have altered their squad for the second Test against India, drafting in batter Kamil Mishara and all-rounder Sahan Arachchige as they prepare for the series decider in Colombo after a heavy loss in Galle. The hosts were beaten by 165 runs in the opening Test, leaving them needing a win in the second and final match to draw the two-game series. The Colombo Test is scheduled to begin on August 23. The changes come with Sri Lanka dealing with multiple injury setbacks in their batting unit. According to coach Gary Kirsten, Kusal Mendis, Dinesh Chandimal and Pathum Nissanka will all miss the second Test, depriving the side of three senior batting options. Mendis has been ruled out because of a serious hamstring problem, while Nissanka is still recovering after wrist surgery. Chandimal, who suffered a concussion on the fourth day of the Galle Test, is unavailable for the Colombo match because he must complete the mandatory seven-day stand-down period required under concussion rules. The absences could hand Test debuts to Mishara and Arachchige. Arachchige comes into the squad after a strong run with Sri Lanka A against India A, where he finished as his team's top run-scorer. Mishara has also earned a call-up after impressing in domestic cricket as Sri Lanka look to rebuild a batting line-up weakened by injuries. Dhananjaya de Silva will captain the side, which also includes Lahiru Udara, Pasindu Sooriyabandara, Kamindu Mendis and Sonal Dinusha. Niroshan Dickwella and Keshara Nuwantha are also among the squad options. Sri Lanka's bowling resources for the second Test include Prabath Jayasuriya, Milan Ratnayake, Lahiru Kumara, Asitha Fernando and Vishwa Fernando. After the defeat in Galle, Sri Lanka are sixth in the World Test Championship table with a points percentage of 33.33. India are placed fifth with 53.33. Sri Lanka now head into the Colombo Test needing a sharper display to avoid a 2-0 series defeat. Sri Lanka squad Dhananjaya de Silva (captain), Lahiru Udara, Kamil Mishara, Pasindu Sooriyabandara, Kamindu Mendis, Sahan Arachchige, Sonal Dinusha, Niroshan Dickwella, Keshara Nuwantha, Prabath Jayasuriya, Milan Ratnayake, Lahiru Kumara, Asitha Fernando, Vishwa Fernando.
