Tamaulipas Attracts US$118.4 Million in Investment in Valle Hermoso

The governor of Tamaulipas, Americó Villarreal Anaya, reported that state and federal investment in Valle Hermoso between 2022 and 2026 totals US$118.4 million, while the Welfare Programs account for an annual injection of US$34.16 million, with 14,000 direct beneficiaries. During the presentation of Mayor Alberto Enrique Alanis Villareal's Second Report, the mayor reaffirmed his commitment to continue promoting the region's agricultural potential. To facilitate and improve connectivity, he highlighted that investments are being made in the maintenance of State Highway 53 (Las Yescas–Valle Hermoso–Empalme); in addition, work was carried out on the Valle Hermoso branch road, and streets in the municipal seat have been rehabilitated and paved. This strategy is complemented by more than US$8.29 million allocated to state programs, which include the ongoing distribution of food packages, school supplies, and scholarships. Villareal Anaya stated that his administration has allocated more than US$1.18 million to rural development initiatives, including assistance for sorghum marketing, the distribution of seeds and diesel, as well as genetic improvement efforts. In addition, there is the modernization of Irrigation Districts 025 and 026, which cover an area of 300,000 hectares, as well as projects to add value to agricultural production, such as a sorghum-based ethanol plant and the nixtamalization of sorghum flour. Meanwhile, Alanis Villareal expressed her gratitude for the governor's support in paving Cuarta Street—a stretch of 1,100 linear meters—to benefit the residents of the Mexico, Obrera, Popular, Recursos Hidraulico, and El Pedregal neighborhoods. The mayor also presented the plan for the El Pozo IV Ecological Sports Park, which will be located in the northern part of the municipality and will be built on land donated by the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas.
