IGP Commends Pakistan Police Players For Winning 10 Medals In Canoeing Championship

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Aug, 2026) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Kareem on Thursday commended Pakistan Police sports board players for winning 10 medals, including two gold, two silver and six bronze, at the All Pakistan Independence Day Open Gold Cup Men's & Women's Canoeing Championship 2026. Canoeing teams from across the country, including the Army, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, participated in the championship, a Punjab Police spokesperson said. Pakistan Police players demonstrated outstanding sporting skills and secured notable positions in various categories, winning a total of 10 medals. The IGP congratulated the players and officials for their achievement and said, 'We are proud of the players who have brought honour to the department through their achievements at national and international events.' He said talented Pakistan Police players were not only bringing pride to the department but also earning recognition for the country through their performances on the sporting field. Pakistan Police Sports Board Director General Additional IG Imran Arshad and Chief Sports Officer DIG Athar Ismail Amjad also congratulated the winning teams and appreciated the players for their outstanding performance.
