BTA :: Four Judges Join Race for Supreme Judicial Council Seats

Four judges were nominated for election to the judges' quota of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), the Council said on Tuesday. The nominations published on its website were those of Radnevo District Court Chair Asen Tsvetanov, Sofia District Court Judge Albena Momchilova, Breznik District Court Judge Roman Nikolov and Supreme Administrative Court Judge Yavor Kolev. The documents submitted under Article 29c (4) of the Judicial System Act by Ruse District Prosecutor Radoslav Gradev and Kyustendil District Prosecution Office Prosecutor Ivaylo Iliev were also published. They included the candidates' CVs, reasons for participating in the procedure, concepts for the SJC's work, declarations, copies of their certificates of legal capacity and other documents.
