Women's Grievances Must Be Addressed Promptly, Says DC Varender Lal

Independent Report NASEERABAD , Sept 7: Deputy Commissioner Naseerabad Varender Lal has directed the relevant departments to ensure the timely resolution of legitimate issues faced by women and facilitate their access to government services, particularly for poor, deserving and elderly women. He issued the directives while presiding over a special Khuli Kachehri for women, described by the district administration as the first women-specific public hearing held in Naseerabad Division. Women from different areas, including elderly and low-income residents, brought forward a range of concerns relating to the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), financial assistance, medical treatment and educational facilities. Participants also raised difficulties in securing financial support from the endowment fund for medical treatment and pointed out the absence of a hostel building at the Nursing College in Dera Murad Jamali. Security concerns faced by women travelling through Baba Kot and Tambo tehsils were also brought to the administration's attention. The participants further sought establishment of a primary school and improvement of educational facilities for children in Mir Hassan tehsil. Varender Lal listened to the grievances and issued instructions to the concerned officials, calling for stronger coordination among departments to ensure that legitimate complaints were addressed without unnecessary delay. The Deputy Commissioner said providing women with a safe and dignified forum to communicate directly with the administration was an important priority of the district administration. He also personally met elderly women attending the hearing, listened to their concerns and directed the relevant officials to take appropriate action. The participants appreciated the initiative and expressed hope that similar women-focused public hearings would continue in the future, providing greater opportunities for women to approach the administration directly. Varender Lal said available administrative resources would be utilized to address the difficulties confronting poor, deserving and elderly women and improve their access to essential public services.
