The upcoming fourth season of spinoff series 'The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon' will be the show's final season, and AMC+ unveiled today a first look at the upcoming conclusion.
The teaser below brings back an apocalypse-battered Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) in Spain, ahead of the final season's arrival in 2027.
In the final season, while crossing the ravaged badlands of Spain, 'Daryl and Carol grasp onto hope – and each other – as uncertainty about their future grows. Smits plays 'Captain Alejandro Perkins,' a former U.S. Navy officer and medical doctor who found a unique way to thrive during the apocalypse. '
Emmy® and Golden Globe® Award-winner Jimmy Smits (NYPD Blue, The West Wing) joins the final season.
'The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon' also stars Romain Levi, Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Candela Saitta and Hugo Arbués and is executive produced by showrunner David Zabel, Scott M. Gimple, Reedus, McBride, Greg Nicotero, Brian Bockrath, Angela Kang, Jason Richman, Dan Percival and Steve Squillante.
'Across two extraordinary series spanning almost two decades, Norman and Melissa have given life to two of the most iconic characters in the history of television. Daryl and Carol have taken fans on an unforgettable and intensely human journey of challenge, survival, hope and friendship, and the response from fans, from the very first moments of The Walking Dead, has been remarkable,' said AMC's Dan McDermott. 'We can't wait to share the upcoming third season of Daryl this fall and to begin production on this fourth and final season in Spain.'
In Season 3, Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride returned as Daryl and Carol as they continued their journey home to the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.
