Three Power Pilferers Arrested In MEPCO Crackdown

BOUREWALA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Aug, 2026) Three power pilferer,including a village chief were apprehended during a crackdown launched by the Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) in a suburban village,officials said on Wednesday. The operation was conducted jointly with the relevant authorities on the directives of XEN MEPCO,Fayaz Hussain and led by SDO MEPCO Sher Atif Ali Bhatti in village 48/KB. During the operation,village chief Zahoor Ahmad and another resident,Nadeem Ahmad, were each fined Rs.150,000 for allegedly stealing electricity. Another resident,Nazeer Ahmed, was found operating his tubewell through a direct electricity connection and was fined Rs.2 million on the spot,officials said. All three accused were booked by Sahuka police station while further investigation was underway.
