IBERIA PARISH, LA. (KLFY) — The Iberia Parish Mosquito Control District announced scheduled aerial operations to reduce mosquito populations in the area that will take place on Wednesday. According to officials, aerial operations will be near sunset and last for an hour and 30 minutes. The aerial operations will take place in the areas of Squirrel Run, Cane Row Golf & Turf club, Sugararena, Jane Street, Daspit City Park, Sugar Mill Road, N Lewis Street and all points in between. Officials warn those who are hypersensitive individuals are suggested to avoid exposure to chemicals in the designated spray areas and refrain from outdoor activities; otherwise, all other citizens can proceed with normal outdoor activities. During this time, residents will notice low flying aircraft and are asked to not follow its flight path due to the flight speed and brief time in the area.
