Regional PlayStation Store listings show Grand Theft Auto VI unlocking at a different local time in every territory when it launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on Nov. 19, 2026. The digital rollout spans close to 19 hours across 15 separate unlock windows drawn from PlayStation Store listings in 63 countries and regions.
New Zealand's storefront lists the earliest unlock, at 12 a.m. NZDT on Nov. 19, which converts to 11 a.m. UTC on Nov. 18. That same instant lands at about 6 a.m. Eastern Time and 11 a.m. GMT, putting New Zealand players ahead of every other listed region.
Mainland Europe's listings unlock at 11 p.m. UTC on Nov. 18, matching midnight Central European Time. The United Kingdom and Ireland follow an hour later, at midnight GMT, or 12 a.m. UTC on Nov. 19.
The United States and Canada share one Eastern-anchored window at 5 a.m. UTC on Nov. 19. Because that listing covers both countries nationwide, players on Canada's West Coast unlock at the same UTC moment as Eastern time zones, translating to about 9 p.m. Pacific time on Nov. 18.
Mexico and several Central American storefronts carry the last listed window, at 6 a.m. UTC on Nov. 19.
None of the currently listed times come from an official Rockstar Games announcement. Sony's storefront data could still change before November, and the Nov. 19, 2026 launch date remains the only detail Rockstar has confirmed directly.
Preloading is expected to open around Nov. 12, a week ahead of the earliest unlock, based on the same round of storefront data. The confirmed times apply specifically to the PlayStation 5 digital version, since Microsoft has not published an equivalent region-by-region breakdown for Xbox Series X|S.
Xbox Series X|S owners can change their console's location to New Zealand through the system settings menu, a method that has let players in other regions reach a New Zealand midnight unlock ahead of their own listed time. Switching a console's region without living in that country is not endorsed by Microsoft or Rockstar.
A similar region change circulated among Xbox players during the October 2022 launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, when developer Infinity Ward warned that anyone changing their region setting to get in early would "experience connectivity issues and may be locked out of the game" until their own region's launch time.
PlayStation 5 does not let an account's region change once it's created. Reaching New Zealand's storefront window on PS5 calls for a separate New Zealand PlayStation Network account, along with a local payment method such as a New Zealand gift card to complete a second purchase.
The Nov. 19, 2026 date traces back to a Nov. 6, 2025 statement Rockstar Games posted on its official X account, locking in a second delay from an earlier May 26, 2026 target. The studio said the additional months would let the team finish the game with "the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve."
Take-Two Interactive, which publishes the Rockstar-developed title, addressed the delay through Chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick on the company's second-quarter earnings call the same day. Zelnick said the studio has occasionally pushed back release dates before and has "never regretted it in retrospect."
UK console sales rose sharply after Rockstar's Extended Look premiered on Netflix in August, with Xbox sales up 34% and PlayStation 5 sales up 33% during the surrounding tracking window.
