Strong storms continue to fire up Labor Day Monday afternoon

Widespread showers and strong storms continue to move across southeast Florida on this Labor Day Monday. A few pockets have developed into severe storms, with heavy downpours, gusty and damaging winds, and frequent lightning. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in place for east-central palm Beach County until 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Palm Beach County. (WPEC) 60 mile per hour winds gust and penny sized hail are radar indicated within the core of this storm, moving east at 15 miles per hour. Heavy rainfall has also triggered a Flood Advisory for this same area until 3:45 p.m. due to 2 to 3 inches of localized rainfall already with potentially more to come. (WPEC) Another Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in place for coastal Martin and St. Lucie counties until 3:15 p.m. Severe Thunderstorm Warning for St. Lucie and Martin counties.
