Former English footballer Joey Barton has been remanded in custody after his bail application was denied, remaining in detention until his trial in March 2027.
Joey Barton, aged 44, was scheduled to appear at Liverpool court last week on charges of intentionally causing serious injury to Kevin Lynch, aged 51, following an incident that occurred last March, before the trial was postponed to next year.
Joey Barton appeared via video link from Liverpool prison during today's hearing, where Judge David Potter denied the new bail request and ordered that he remain in custody until the pre-trial hearing scheduled for December 11.
Joey Barton has played for several clubs, most notably Manchester City, Newcastle United, and Marseille. He also represented his national team and was known for stirring controversy.
