Former United States Champion Signs Multi-Year Deal with WWE

WWE has conducted a long list of roster cuts since the conclusion of WrestleMania 42 weekend. This includes Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods (New Day), Sheamus, Apollo Crews, Zelina Vega, Kairi Sane, Aleister Black and the entire Wyatt Sicks stable. However, WWE has also made a handful of notable signings in 2026, including former TNA World Champion and old friend Baron Corbin, who left the company in Nov. 2024 after his contract expired. Corbin made his WWE return on the July 10 episode of SmackDown, setting up a feud with Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams. During an interview with TheSportster (h/t Fightful.com), Corbin stated that he signed a multi-year contract with WWE. He added that this will likely be the last wrestling deal he signs. 'This is going to be a great run for me,' Corbin said. 'Like, you know, signing a good multi-year deal. Coming back, I'm going to really accomplish something. I have a lot of unfinished goals. 'I was never a world champion. I need to have that on my list of accomplishments. So coming back and making a statement at SummerSlam in front of all those people, it was unreal…Like I said, I signed a good contract, and my thought process is, this is probably the last one I sign, right?' Corbin's 35-day reign as the United States Champion ended at Sunday Night's Main Event, with Trick Williams defeating him via pinfall to regain the title. However, Corbin has yet to win a world championship in WWE. He got close in 2017, but his MITB cash-in against Jinder Mahal was unsuccessful.
