Telangana MLC Denies Making Disparaging Remarks Against Assembly Speaker

Hyderabad, September 7 (Daily Kiran) : Tata Madhusudan, a member of the Legislative Council from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has denied making any disrespectful or disparaging remarks against Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar. He stated that Congress leaders misrepresented his statements, attributing words to him that he never uttered. The clarification came after the Assembly condemned his alleged comments, with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and several ministers demanding his expulsion from the house. The controversy erupted when BRS legislators and MLCs arrived at the Assembly wearing black T-shirts emblazoned with slogans. Police stopped them at the entrance, leading to a protest. Madhusudan expressed regret if any of his statements were interpreted as directed at the Assembly Speaker. 'I fully respect the position of the Assembly Speaker. I have not said a single word against him,' he emphasized. He accused the police of mistreating BRS legislators and MLCs while they attempted to enter the Assembly. Madhusudan claimed that officers struck him multiple times in the stomach. 'Despite being punched in the stomach, I said nothing. Later, intolerant individuals attributed words to me that I never spoke,' he added. Known as Tata Madhu, he alleged that the police physically assaulted elected BRS members, including female legislators. He called on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to apologize for the incident. Madhusudan claimed that police officers pulled the clothes of female legislators, grabbed their hair, and mistreated them, actions he described as shameful for a civilized society. He also alleged that police pushed and dragged senior leaders such as Yadava Reddy, Jagadish Reddy, Harish Rao, KTR, and Dr. Sanjay.
