Atmore gathering of over 500 leads to shooting, person struck by vehicle

The Atmore Police Department is investigating an overnight shooting that occurred during a party of over 500 people. A man was injured at the gathering on Carver Avenue near King Street and Sims Street. First responders transported the victim to the hospital, where he is reportedly in stable condition. His identity has not been released. Meanwhile, detectives combed the scene and spoke to witnesses who said a large group was gathered roadside when shots were fired. A person was also struck by a vehicle. There is no word on that person's condition. Atmore officers from patrol, criminal investigations, narcotics/vice and crime scene responded to the incident.
