The Mercedes man has followed in his McLaren rival's footsteps as Silverstone announced the George Russell Grandstand would be opened at the circuit's Farm Curve for next year's race. Norris debuted his 'Landostand' in 2025 when he claimed his maiden British Grand Prix win and this year 16,000 fans packed it out at Stowe corner. Russell revealed his desire to also have a grandstand for his own race and quipped during this year's Silverstone weekend that he quite fancied taking some of Norris' seats. A post shared by Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team (@mercedesamgf1) 'Good luck,' Norris retorted. 'I have more passionate fans and a better fanbase I think. Mine was more wanted from a public point of view, which is a great thing. 'He can do what he wants, but he is certainly not taking any of my seats.' Russell has now got his own spot at the famous circuit, with Mercedes posting pictures of their driver throughout his karting and junior racing career with the captain: 'This is the kid that just got his own grandstand.' Russell said: 'We are on the exit of turn one, you can see all of turn one and turn two, overtaking spot into three and turn four. It is a really, really cool place on the circuit – one of the best in my opinion.'
