'His hockey sense, competitiveness, responsible two-way game and offensive growth make him a valuable player for our group. This is a mutual long-term commitment that reflects our confidence in Fraser and the important role he will play, as well as Fraser's belief in our team moving forward.' Minten was selected 38th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. He scored two goals and four points in 19 games over the course of two seasons before he was dealt to the Bruins in 2025 in a package that brought defenceman Brandon Carlo to Toronto. Minten found his footing with the Bruins during the 2025-26 season, scoring 17 goals and 35 points in 82 games, and was named the NHL's rookie of the month for January. He also won the Bruins' Seventh Player Award, given annually to the player who exceeded the expectations of Bruins fans during the season. Over the course of four years with the Blazers from the WHL Hub season in 2021 to the 2023-24 regular season, Minten scored 58 goals and 150 points in 151 games. He was briefly the captain of the Blazers in the 2023-24 season before being traded to the Saskatoon Blades. Minten also scored one goal and four points in 10 games with Canada at the 2026 IIHF Men's World Championship. His extension comes one year after his former Blazers teammate Logan Stankoven signed an eight-year, $48 million contract extension with the Carolina Hurricanes.
