Qatar Airways has temporarily suspended flights to and from Riyadh and Dammam in Saudi Arabia following escalating security concerns and attacks on Saudi airports, adding to growing disruption across the region's aviation network. The airline announced the suspension in a travel advisory, saying it was monitoring developments in Saudi Arabia in coordination with the relevant authorities. It has not announced a confirmed date for resuming the affected service. The decision affects passengers travelling between Doha and the two Saudi cities, including those relying on Qatar Airways for connecting international journeys through Hamad International Airport in Doha. Riyadh Airport Closure Adds to Travel Disruptions The suspension comes as Saudi Arabia faces significant aviation disruption following attacks attributed to Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi movement. According to Reuters, Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport is expected to remain closed until October 17, 2026, following deadly attacks and further security threats. The closure has prompted several international airlines to cancel or adjust their Saudi services.
