Enzo Maresca urges Manchester City to focus on progress rather than expectations

Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has played down long-term expectations ahead of Tuesday's Champions League clash with FC Porto , insisting his focus remains on the team's day-to-day progress. 'When you are Manchester City, the expectation is always higher,' Maresca said. 'I like to be more focused on the day by day' rather than thinking about where the team could be in February, March or April. Maresca said the priority is to see City improve from one game to the next before assessing their position later in the season. His comments come as City prepare to begin their Champions League campaign against Porto.
