Bel Fuse Inc., a publicly traded manufacturer of electronic components, systems and solutions, announced Sept. 4 that Richard E. Hamilton will join the company as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary effective Sept. 28.
Hamilton will lead Bel's global legal function and serve as a strategic adviser to the company's executive leadership team and board of directors. In his role as corporate secretary, he will oversee corporate governance and board matters, while supporting the company's public-company reporting, regulatory compliance, commercial activities, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property and other legal matters.
'We are excited to welcome Rich to Bel,' said Farouq Tuweiq, the company's president and chief executive officer. 'His extensive experience advising global businesses, leading complex legal organizations, and managing matters involving corporate governance, compliance, transactions, and international operations will be valuable as Bel continues to scale its global platform and support customers across aerospace, defense, industrial, and data infrastructure markets.'
Hamilton joins Bel with more than 25 years of legal experience. Most recently, he served as deputy general counsel at Stryker Corp., the Fortune 200 medical device company, where he served as chief legal counsel for international and department operations and chief legal counsel for Asia Pacific.
His experience spans mergers and acquisitions, commercial negotiations, corporate securities, compliance, litigation, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and employment and labor matters.
Before joining Stryker, Hamilton was a partner at Stern & Kilcullen, advising corporate clients on investigations and compliance matters involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, SEC laws and the federal Anti-Kickback Law. Earlier in his career, he practiced at Riker Danzig and served as a legislative and litigation associate.
