Wet and breezy nationwide today, but warmer and drier conditions to return

Today and tomorrow will see wet and breezy conditions across much of the country, but more settled weather will return over the next week, Met Éireann has said. Average temperatures are slightly lower than average this week, but it will remain mild as the week progresses. Today will begin mixed with cloud and sunny spells with just isolated rain, but showers and wind will increase in intensity in western counties towards the evening. Daytime temperatures will range from 13C and 17C before dipping to 12C. Friday will start wet and breezy once more with widespread rain, Met Éireann says, heaviest in the west and southwest. Those showers will clear eastwards in the afternoon while remaining cloudy and dull. Friday daytime temperatures will land between 15C and 19C, falling to 11C to 15C in the evening. Saturday is forecast to have sun, rain and windy conditions across the north of the country with temperatures between 14C to 18C while Sunday is expected to be generally drier with the exception of some light rain in the west with temperatures ranging from 15C to 18C. Monday will begin cloudy with isolated showers and a slight increase in brighter conditions. According to Met Éireann, high pressure will bring settled conditions next week with 'below average' rain and 'above average' temperatures.
