Five Star-Studded, Can't-Miss Shows Heading to Broadway This Fall

Excitement is building as several new plays prepare to debut on Broadway. Theater fans can look forward to seeing some popular screen stars tread the boards. Some, in fact, will be making their Broadway debuts — including 'Seinfeld' star Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Meanwhile, another play will feature a member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, who's returning after making his debut on the Great White Way nearly a decade ago. 'School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play' Starring: Patina Miller, Denée Benton, Jasmine Amy Rogers 'Becoming Miss Ghana 1986 would mean fame, fortune, and prosperity,' reads the synopsis for this comedy from the Tony-nominated team of playwright Jocelyn Bioh and director Whitney White. 'At least, that's what Paulina — the queen bee of Aburi Girls Boarding School — believes,' the synopsis contines. 'When the pageant recruiter comes to school, Paulina and her crew pull out all the stops. But to their surprise, a new transfer student from America kicks the competition into a higher, far more personal gear. Arriving on Broadway for the first time nearly a decade after its Off-Broadway premiere, 'School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play' reunites the powerhouse team behind 'Jaja's African Hair Braiding' … for this bright, biting comedy.' 'Other Desert Cities' Starring: Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ed Harris, Allison Janney, Joe Keery and Lily Rabe 'A once-in-a-generation cast arrives on Broadway this fall,' declares the synopsis for this revival of Jon Robin Baitz's Tony-winning play, directed by John Benjamin Hickey. 'A Few Good Men' Starring: Bradley Whitford, Tom Blyth and Krysta Rodriguez 'Before 'The West Wing' and 'The Social Network,' Aaron Sorkin left an indelible mark on American storytelling with the breakout 1989 hit play 'A Few Good Men.' This fall, the explosive courtroom drama returns to Broadway in a bold new production—sharp, thrilling, and relevant as ever,' reads the synopsis. 'Military lawyer Daniel Kaffee is known for his wit, charm, and uncanny talent for closing cases before they ever get to trial. When assigned to defend two young Marines accused of murder, his typical strategy is upended by Lt. Commander JoAnne Galloway, a sharp attorney determined to prove the men's innocence. 'Much Ado About Nothing' Starring: Tom Hiddleston, Hayley Atwell and Mason Alexander Park 'Two of their generation's finest actors' star in Tony winner Jamie Lloyd's joyous reinvention of Shakespeare's 'Much Ado About Nothing,' described as a 'giddily funny and beautifully tender battle of wits comes to Broadway after a record-breaking run in London.' Previews begin October 31, with opening night on November 19, running through to January 10, 2027 at the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway at West 50th Street). 'Inter Alia' Starring: Rosamund Pike Rosamund Pike makes her Broadway debut, reprising her acclaimed performance in the West End production of this legal drama from acclaimed playwright Suzie Miller. 'Jessica Parks is a maverick London Crown Court judge; sharp, compassionate, and determined to change a system she knows isn't always just. But her career exists inter alia ('among other things') as she balances motherhood, friendship and the elusive notion of having it all,' declares the synopsis. 'So, when an unthinkable event rocks her finely tuned life, can she hold her family together — or will everything fall apart?'
